I was issued a refund to a prepaid Mastercard gift card that I no longer have. The limit was spent so I threw the card away

You will need to contact the Mastercard gift card's bank to see how you can receive the funds. Most companies who take care of purchases (such as PayPal, SquareUp, etc.), or are a bank (such as Zions Bank) usually are able to send you a check in the mail, or other payment methods if they so choose, if it's needed (such as your bank account is frozen and you're still receiving payments for products through SquareUp). Good luck, @Ellenlou!
