I advertise something on craigslist I have a buyer that wants my email address and name to send money to my PayPal is this the correct way to do this

BE VERY CAREFUL.

Normally your paypal email address which identifies your paypal account is all someone needs to pay you.

HOWEVER be very careful as lot of scams about.

1. Do not get scammed via spoof emails that look as if they are from paypal.

2. Never send anything unless the funds are showing in your paypal account balance, even if you are a new seller and subject to the new seller hold the funds would still show in your balance but have pending by them.

3. Do NOT send anything to Nigeria or similar.

4. Do not be fooled by you so called buyer and "paypal" telling you that you either have to >>>

a. Send the item and provide a tracking number BEFORE the funds show in your balance.

b. You have to pay the buyers shipping agent via western union or moneygram before his payment that is supposed to include these costs are credited to you.

If in doubt come back and ask.

She is just asking for my name in my email and said that she would send somebody to pick up item after payment shows in my account

Firstly there is no seller protection for items that are collected, and if they are collecting then why are they not paying cash on collection?????????

Secondly i think this sounds like a scam, they will send you a spoof email saying you have been paid but you have to pay the shipping agent up front for them via western union. 

If its a collect item, tell them cash on collection only.

Thanks for the advice have not heard from them again since I told them case or bank draft
