I recieved an offer on a craiglist add from someone that want to pay me via paypal. They want me to pay for shipping so I would not be using their account. They are offering to pay full price but they arent paying more and asking me to send the rest. These are the two biggest scams I could think of so if both of these check out is there another way to confirm this isnt a scam? Can I call Paypal after I recieve funds to see if it is real?
There's no way to verify that this is a scam but, based on experience, it probably is. If you are selling something, you send the buyer an invoice, the buyer pays, you get the money, then ship the item - make sure you have the tracking info and if applicable, insure the item. It's pretty straight forward. When a buyer wants to negotiate this and that - that's a red flag.
