Is it possible to not link a bank account and to only use the PayPal to pay for things strictly from the PayPal account which would have accumulated funds? Or is a bank account mandatory even though it would not be used in any way?

Hey Scrib,
Great question - you can use a PayPal account for purchases without having a bank, however some transactions may be blocked by our internal security due to you not having a backup payment source. If this is the case, you would be asked to add a bank or card during the checkout process, and you would need to make the purchase with a different merchant instead. I hope this helps!
