I am curious. Why does it take SO long to get a refund?

I mean this politely but if I want to cancel a large sum transaction ($350+) and get my money back, why is it so complicated and a longggggg drawn process to get my money back?  Seriously!

if it is a credit card transaction,it is a reversal ,a credit entry versus a debit entry ,and it could take up to 30 days,but 3-7 days is more like it and it goes back to your card.
