How to filter all payments to a SINGLE person via Activity button?

Is it me, or is the PP 'ACTIVITY' tab - So Annoyingly useless?

 

I'm trying to identify through a (what should be) filtering process, all payments I've made to a contractor.

I've switched the START & END times, plugged in the email & that should be simple & easy/NOT WITH PP.

 

Can someone show me what I'm doing wrong.  And now, I can't even just scroll through ALL the payment's I've made in 2017;

as it will only go back to Nov.
