How much can you send to a friend or family member through paypal? Is there an amount where they start to charge you?

some accounts have $1k limit.if you sent large amount,it would be reviewed.

if bank or paypal fund to domestic recipient,there should be no fee for freind and family,for overseas,in different currency,there is conversion fee ,either you or recipient have to pay,using a card,be it credit or debit,there is transaction fee.

if using a credit card,of course there is fee.

look for fee schedule on its site,it varies by country.

to process your credit/debit  card,the middleman charges a processing fee,

if it were a large amount,I would do it the old fashion way,non paypal,to avoid any review or worse ,asking for more information on you or the recipient.

Oh shoot. It was a large amount. But I already sent it. I thought it was the most secure way. Ugh, live and learn. Hope I don't have a big review since I used a card instead of cash.
