Expired transaction, paypal funds not returned

So I had a transaction pending for 30 days where my funds that were in my Paypal were held and it finally expired yesterday but the funds never went back on my account. I've called Paypal twice now and both times the rep said that I actually did get my money back but they would read off the wrong transactions (random refunds that were close to the same amount but not exact or from a different merchant). I'm not sure if the funds aren't coming back because I cancelled the billing agreement between the merchant and I a few weeks ago or what.  I'm not sure what to do here.

You are going to have to keep contacting PayPal. You can reach them by going to their Twitter, at https://twitter.com/askpaypal, or Facebook, at https://www.facebook.com/PayPal/?brand_redir=589464587749730, if you would like to. Although, since this is about transactions, I would strongly recommend contacting them by email at https://www.paypal.com/selfhelp/contact. The link for phone support is on the bottom left while the link for email support is on the bottom right. Queries are typically answered in the order received.
