Gaming site is saying I have to also provide an I.D, driver's license. Anyone ever heard of this?

When making a purchase using a credit/debit card then some sites require the buyer to also submit a valid ID like a passport or drivers licence to verify that it is the same person that owns the card are also using it to make the payment. It is a fraud prevention measure.

But when using PayPal to make a payment then the seller is supposed to trust Paypal since PayPal have already done the proper verification of the user ID and address. If the seller then ship to the registered PayPal address then he is supposed to trust that ID and address.

I have never heard of a site that require ID verification when using PayPal to make  a payment.

I would not shop at such a place!

I do not know  if it is against PayPal rules for sellers to require ID verification. But I think it should be such a rule!

What gaming site are you talking about?
