Hi Daniel_Champion,

Welcome to the Community!

When you use your bank to fund a payment, it takes a few business days for the funds to clear. PayPal pays the seller up front for you while this is happening. If the seller refunds the payment before the original bank transfer finishes processing, the refund is held until the funds are available. Once that original transfer has fully processed, the hold is removed and you can spend or withdraw the funds as you see fit.

To learn more about refunds, please check out the Buyer's Guide to Refunds.

I'm sorry to hear that a misunderstanding of the transfer time frames resulted in a fee from your bank. If you explain the situation to a customer service representative from your bank, they may be able to offer to waive their charges. My bank was very helpful when I had an NSF fee as a result of my own misunderstanding several years ago.

I hope this helps!
