Paypal pending- order & authorization?

I recently bought a US Airways ticket. My bank account hasn't been charged but I got a confirmation for the flight. I'm wondering why there seems to be two transactions? The amount under "Order" is what I paid, but the "authorization" is a few cents more. Can anyone tell me why that is? My friend also bought her ticket and her bank account was charged instantly. Thanks in advance!

Hi Christinee!

I'm sorry to see that your post wasn't answered! I'd be happy to shed some light on things for you. 🙂

When an order is placed, an authorization is also sent to hold the funds since the funds will be moved upon completion of the order, potentially at a later time or date. The authorization and the record of the order itself are two parts of the same transaction.

I hope this helps!
