Paypal Now OK With Adult Sites?

So I just noticed that Paypal is now accepted on many many different adult oriented/porn sites. I heard that these businesses can only have Paypal as a payment option if they do it through Epoch.com

I am wondering if anyone knows any more info about this?

Also I had both my business and personal account blocked because I was using it for my strictly non-nude only semi adult business. My question is, that if Paypal starts accepting adult businesses on a broader range, will I still be forever banned from having a Paypal account?

Hi nevynnoir11,

Welcome to the Community and thanks for reaching out!

If you would like to appeal your old accounts, or to make an inquiry as to whether or not it is acceptable for your business to now accept PayPal, please email our Acceptable Use Policy teams directly with the details of your business before accepting any payments at aup@paypal.com.

Thanks!

Adrian

I am going to create several new websites: since I am a minister, and just completed a new Life-Cycle Celebrant program, I will design a new wedding site to let others know I am ready now to perform marriages. Additionally, I am going to create a Dating Site. However, it is the Dating Site I worry most about as it does have features to include photos of Members with adult content (selfies with no clothes on). Furthermore, the site has a Store that can include adult items for sale. Also, I could place banner ads leading to other educational **bleep** content. Should I completely stay away from all this and just stick with with Dating theme, as I do not want to in any way lose my account for even a second. Let me know just how far I can go with this, if at all.

Thanks for being there.

Some adult websites use Epoch as a billing agent.  Epoch offers a PayPal option for subscription payment.  This has confused some PayPal members because this option implies PayPal will accept adult websites. It appears that PayPal should stop Epoch offering this option.

I want to add some additional info to my first post on this subject.  A year ago or so  Epoch and PayPal had a partnership in Europe whereby PayPal made payments through Epoch for different websites (presumably some adult).  The partnership was successful.

What concerns me is that PayPal must know that currently in USA Epoch offers the PayPal option for payments for subscriptions to some popular adult websites.  It is understandable that many PayPal members believe that it will now accept adult websites.

Paypal's User Agreement still forbids "sexually oriented services".  The fact that it must know  about the Epoch PayPal option is

an.invitation for a user to violate the Use  Agreement whenever the user uses the Epoch option.

What would be the problem with say, having a website that simply gives you generic "credits" in return for payment. For example, I go to a website with a fictional address such as credits.com, which has no link to adult material, and I can buy via their PayPal account 5 credits for $5, or 10 credits for $10. Effectively those credits are useless however there may be a different website called xxxdvds.com that just so happens to accept your credits bought over at credits.com as payment. There may even be a sports clothing website that also accepts payment in credits bought from credits.com! What would be the problem with this kind of set-up?
