I was just audited for the 2013 tax year due to a 1099 that the IRS received from paypal. I never received a 1099 that year from paypal and had no idea I had to do anything. I basically just sell old stuff I have, and didn't realize that every payment I received in paypal was income.
I also get paid for my actual work through paypal, and all of that income was reported that year...however the IRS (and paypal) grouped all of that income together so that I am essentially getting double charged for everything.
Anyway, I need that 1099 from 2013 as well as my full account history for that year.
Is there any easy way to get this information?
When I view account history right now it says it's only available for 9 months...but that can't be true. Paypal has to have our account history backed up for instances like this.
If not...I have no idea how I'm going to reconcile all of that "income" that isn't actually income at all.
