Did mgcosmetic ever receive an accurate response to their question, or did Paypal leave it with the idiotic non-reply by this customer support person displayed in this post? I would like to know the answer to the question or if there is not a way to change your default method of payment I would like to know if we just have to continue to use their time wasting method of changing the payment every time we buy something..

The system basically works in this manor.
Funds are first taken from your PayPal Account Balance. If you have insufficient funds in your Account Balance, then your bank account is next. If you don't have a bank account but have a credit card, the card will be used. Unfortunately there's no built in options that would allow you to simply say, only use this funding source. I believe the one exception is one of the PayPal products, I believe it's BML. The problem with that is once you tell it to be the funding source, if you don't want to use it anymore, you have to call customer support to turn it off.

Thanks very much for your help. Unless you are an employee of Paypal, I am totally unimpressed with their lack of concern for our questions and concerns. Thanks again

I have a PayPal Smart Connect credit account and PayPal still goes after my checking account first. Even though my preference has been changed to use the credit card first! I am just going to use Bill Me Later moving forward.

Hi iMrk,
Thanks for your reply. Paypal finally shared it with me after only six weeks or so. Their customer service is always on top of it, aren't they? Sorry you have not received a reply to your question since it is such a pertinent one to many of us. I love Paypal for what it does, but we're all pretty much wasting our time trying to get any customer service asssistance. Maybe they don't have any human beings as employees, only computers or something. Best wishes, billyb02
