sent money to a friend, they cannot access it. Invalid ID

I sent money ($50) to a friend using their e-mail address. We are both in BC, Canada. They follow the link to 'accept or decline' payment, and it says they have an invalid ID. What is going wrong here? Thanks!

Have they verified their paypal email address.
