credit Gift card

I wanted to add my credit gift card (mastercard) with a limit of few $, because I want to limit my use.

But when I add the card, it ask to first confirm, then the only option you have is to agree to remove the limit from the gift card.

What does it do when it removes the limit of my gift card?

Does it become like a regular credit card, where you can use more than your balance and pay later and get interest on late pay?
