Your Payment was returned email. It says I haven't signed up for paypal.

Hello I have been using paypal for many years and this is the first time I have recieved an email of this sort. I sold something on ebay recently. I recieved comfirmation of payment through ebay. I waited for my money to appear on my account but it never did? Now it says the money has been returned to the person who bought the item because I didn't sign up for paypal? Is there anyway I can get my money back? I already tried calling customer support but they couldn't help me.

If you did not get any notification in your PayPal account Activity concerning the transaction, then perhaps the info you received is not valid - could be a spoof or phishing email. 

* Forward the entire email to:    spoof@paypal.com.
* Do not alter the subject line or forward the message as an attachment.
* Delete the suspicious email from your inbox.
* Never click on any links within the email or open any attachments.
