Set up paypal on a foreign account

I have a friend who has a non profit in Nicaragua and needs to take payments through paypal. Can he set it up or is it impossible?

Paypal is available in that country.

Click on the link below and select the country you want from the drop down list for options available in that country.

Yeah, the problem we are seeing is that it wants him to link his account to a US bank account.

Is there a way to link it to a Banpro or other Nicaraguan bank?

The U.S bank account option is because paypal is a U.S company and allows its residents to link their bank accounts to other countries paypal accounts if they are working or living in that country.

If he is not a U.S resident then its unlikely he can use that option.

If you read the link he can add a card but won't be able to withdraw funds.
