Seller accepted my offer and then backed out!

I placed a bid on a Kate Spade handbag. The seller was selling the handbag at $50 or best offer. I offered $47 and the seller accepted. Then I get a notice that the seller sold it to someone else for $50. Is this right? Just doesn't seem right to me!

Any words of wisdom would help me better understand this situation!

Thank you!!

If this was eBay, does eBay allow a seller to cancel a purchase arbitrariy?

If the website has rules that were violated, then report the seller.

PayPal allows seller cancellation arbitrarily.

In future don't use this seller.  Better yet ask the seller about cancellation policies in advance.

An item isn't sold until paid.  You hadn't paid yet.  Another buyer swooped in and paid asking price.  Next time don't dely buying if you really want something.

Why do you realy believe the bag was not fake, counterfeit?

I did pay for the handbag and then the seller cancelled and refunded me. I never said I thought that the bag was counterfeit. I think it was probably real. I just don't like a seller who backs out after the item was paid for.

Thank you for responding.
