How long does it take for Paypal to process a payment?

So I sold 2 devices on eBay to one individual who paid immediately.

After paying he demanded that I ship it right away and provide him with a tracking number (which is what I usually do) but the payment says that it's pending because the payment is still processing. It also says that I should not ship it until the payment processes.

The problem is that the buyer keeps bugging me about shipping the items and I tried explaining to him that I cannot ship until the payment processes but he doesn't speak english. 

So I was wondering how long does it take to process a payment made from a bank?

I'm having a similar issue. I transferred funds from my PayPal account to my bank account on Friday afternoon. Typically when this happens the money is available on the following Monday, but it's not there today...

Maybe it's because it's Columbus day?

Let the buyer keep bugging you.  You need to follow PayPal policies.  Pending is for a reason; the payment will fail.  It's a scam buyer's do to get free stuff.

Keep your product until PayPal indicates OK.
