Easy Payments Option for merchant?

Hello,

Few months ago when researching, I read you offered merchants the option to add the Easy Payments option for their customers. Now, when I return to find the documention, I find only this, directed only to customers, not merchants:

https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/credit-easy-payments

Do you still offer merchants the ability to offer Easy Payments in their store for their customers, like this https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/affirm-split-purchases-into-easy-monthly-payments/id967040652?mt=8  or this: https://www.theshoppingchannel.com/Isaac-Mizrahi-Fashion/Sweaters/Isaac-Mizrahi-Live-MockNeck-Turtle...

Thank you,

Elsa-Marie

P.S.: In this documentation I finally found, there seem to be an indication that a merchant could offer Easy Payments (and how to test it in a Sandbox account): https://developer.paypal.com/docs/classic/lifecycle/sb_create-accounts/

Sounds like you're referring to PayPal Credit (which in the past was Bill Me Later).  It's available to customers as a payment method if they signed up for it through PayPal and check out through PayPal.   As a merchant who sells through PayPal, there's nothing special you have to do.

But if my clients doesn't have Paypal Credit (like most of my local customers), or that they choose to pay through credit card Mastercard/Visa, that would mean they won't have access to the Easy Payment? Is there a way I could offer the Easy Payment for those customers, or is there any plans to make that more available to any type of payment method?

Because companies like the Shopping Channel offer it for any kind of payment method, and it greatly benefits both merchants and customers.

Hi.

I don't want to appear impatient, but I do need an answer, please. My business is scheduled to open by mid-November, and depending on what your answer will be, I need to replan what I offer my clients.

So, if my clients doesn't have Paypal Credit (like as most of my local customers), or that they choose to pay through credit card Mastercard/Visa, that would mean they won't have access to the Easy Payment (Bill me later)? Is there a way I could offer the Easy Payment for those non-Paypal Credit customers, or is there anything similar I could do for them?

PayPal offers QUALIFIED buyers the option to use PayPal Credit promotional and easy-payment payment plans.  The merchant has no input to those offerings.  It is totally up to PayPal and PayPal Credit.  Futhermore, even if one has a PayPal Credit account there is no guarantee that it will be offered as a payment option.

As a merchant you do not offer payment plans to buyers.  To do so you would need to work with bank financing to offer plans to buyers.

When accept PayPal you accept their terms and allow PayPal to qualify buyers and offer buyers payment options appropriate to the buyer's fnancial and credit status.

I see. Thank you for letting me know.

Is there any plans in the future to allow merchants to offer Easy Payments for their customers (for those that don't have Paypal Credit)?

Thank you, but I'm a Canadian merchant so it won't work. And again, it'll only be for customers who have Paypal Credit.

Thank you again, I'll just keep with the traditional payments.

Hi alphabeta01,

It sounds like you may be referring to PayPal's Enhanced Recurring Payments feature. This allows a merchant to set up recurring billing options and installment plans for their customers, and does not require PayPal Credit. You can learn more about this feature here.

I hope this helps!
