I have been selling on eBay which uses PayPal for shipping. When creating a shipping label, Paypal assigns a USPS "Tracking Number" which is automatically forwarded to the buyer. When checking the tracking number through the post office website it says "NOT AVAILABLE". NOT ONLY is the tracking number NOT AVAILABLE BUT my buyers ARE NOT RECEIVING THEIR ITEMS and as a Seller, I have NO WAY of checking this as I am UNABLE TO GET ANY TRACKING INFORMATION EITHER!!!!!
I have contacted Consumer Affairs with USPS and was told that (1.) Some of the post offices were NOT scanning in the tracking numbers. HOWEVER, I hand deliver my items to the post office and WATCH them scan in the "tracking number" AND they STILL HAVE NO INFORMATION! (2.) They also told me that in MANY, MANY CASES USPS were NOT receiving the TRACKING NUMBERS through PayPal and/or eBay!!! They "suggested" that maybe the FEES to add the Tracking Numbers WERE NOT BE PAID???
I was under the impression that the shipping fees to ship First Class Mail INCLUDE TRACKING NUMBER INFORMATION?
THIS DOES NOT SEEM TO BE THE CASE! I AM LOOSING MONEY BIG TIME WITH HAVING TO REFUND MONIES FOR ITEMS NOT RECEIVED.
There seems to be a breakdown between Paypay and USPS. Or eBay, Paypal and USPS but MANY eBay Sellers are having the EXACT SAME ISSUE! eBay says it's Paypal, USPS says it's Paypal; before the split Paypal said it was eBay. WHOEVER IS RESPONSIBLE ABSOLUTELY NEEDS TO CORRECT THE PROBLEM - technical or otherwise! BUT FIX IT!!
