US Airways ticket cancelled within 24 hours, still no refund from Paypal credit

I recently purchased an airline ticket from US Airways on 9/2/2014 using Paypal Credit.  I cancelled the order within 24 hours, and I was told that the refund would be reflected in 24-48 hours.  After waiting 7-10 business days as suggested by PayPal the charges were still not removed, and I opened a dispute.  It appears that US Airways is saying that they never issued a charge in the first place and the ticket was voided prior to collecting money, while PayPal is saying they will remove the charge once they are refunded.  Any suggestions for the best way to resolve this?

Bottom line - we don't have a clue.  This is a member to member help group - unfortunately we don't have access to user account information or transaction records.

What we do know is how refunds are normally processed:

When a refund is issued, it does not go to your bank account. Any transactions you want going to your bank account must be initiated by you.

If you paid using your PayPal Account Balance or Bank Account, the refund is credited back to your PayPal Account Balance. Times can vary for many reasons, it can take from 1 day to several days depending on the funding source used by the party doing the refund.

If you paid using a credit card, the refund is credited back to that card. That process can take up to 2 weeks for the credit to appear on your card statement.

If you paid using a prepaid type card, the refund is credited back to that card however, as many cards are not reloadable, you have to contact the card issuer for assistance with getting the credit reapplied to the card. (Note, the refund time can take up to 2 weeks.)

Refunds are in the same currency and at the same conversion rate as the original payment.

All we can recommed is that you follow-up with customer support with your concerns - You can contact them via email, phone or through Twitter @AskPayPal or via Private Message on their Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/PayPal
