Stupid Abbreviations from the USPS

Seems lately the USPS is forcing some very stupid abbreviaons before you can print a label.  Not only a huge waste of time, but just downright DUMB Robot Mad

This mornings example: I was forced to change "Thief River Falls" to "Thief Rvr Fls"

What, if anything can we do about it?  I'm sure nothing but complain...

Todays examples:

"Crooked River Ranch" had to be changed to "Crkd Rvr Rnch"

"Crawfordsville" need the >i< removed to make it "Crawfordsvlle"

Does anybody care? Man Mad

Any way to post pics here?

It's just USPS standard. You abbreviate "River Falls" the same as you would abbreviate "Street" or "Avenue"

Standard eh?  I've been shipping stuff for years and its NEVER been this bad.

Yesterdays issues:

I was forced to change "Crooked River Ranch" to "Crkd Rvr Rnch"

And then on another label I had to remove the >i< from "Crawfordsville" to make it read "Crawfordsvlle" Thats normal?

And so what I the customer types in "Road" rather than "Rd"  Should'nt the system be smart enough to figure out that and not make me change it?

I have screen shots to share but I guess you cant post pics here.
