Paypal sandbox - merchant tab takes you to live paypal site unable to create test buttons

After crreating a test BUYER account here: https://www.sandbox.paypal.com

Then enter the test sandbox, if I press the "Merchant" tab in order to create a test button, the tab takes me to http://www.paypal.com instead of the sandbox. As a result am unable to create test buttons.

Please advise if there is another process for creating and testing button functionality.

I am having this same issue.  This makes it impossible for me to get any work done for my client, so a quick response would be appreciated.

Having the same issue. Can't generate appropriate test buttons because the merchant tab takes me to a live sign-in.

I created a sandbox account so that I can test the merchant services, but it does not allow me access, instead it goes to the real paypal service and rejects the email I used to setup my sandbox account.

Hi everyone,

I know this has been an ongoing issue with the Sandbox.  We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused. I don't have an ETA for when it will be fixed but thank you all for reporting this on the community as it helps us get a sense of how many people are affected.

You can access the PayPal button creator/manager from the Profile settings in the sandbox account.  I've also included the direct link below:

Create a new button: https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_button-designer

Manage existing saved buttons: https://www.sandbox.paypal.com/us/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_button-management

If you want to know "how many people are affected by this", just google for the problem.  The internet is full of it...
