Major Technical Issue with Paypal website

for over 24 hours now I have been unable to use my Paypal account.

 

I enter my email and password and click "login" and the site hangs and hangs and hangs

 

eventually it prints this error:

 

Gateway Timeout

The proxy server did not receive a timely response from the upstream server.

I've tested this on my home machine, on machines across the world (I am a network administrator) and also on my phone and it's the same problem and it's definitely on Paypal, not on my side.

 

I am able to log in with a personal account but not this particular business account (which is the important one I need to log into).

 

It seems the login is actually logging me in, but the issue is loading the main account screen after logging in. It just hangs and then says

I have been on the phone a couple of times and the customer support has no clue. They transferred me to "tech support" but the call hung up on me.

 

Now I've called again and I've been on hold for almost an hour. This is getting really frustrating.
